The Machen Florida Opportunity Scholars Program is UF’s flagship First-Generation need-based scholarship, which has supported over 4,000 scholars since it was created in 2006. Each year, this scholarship is awarded to roughly 400 incoming freshmen who come from families who have an average family income of $22,000.
