The University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) is the UF enterprise dedicated to agriculture, natural resources and related life sciences. With the mission to develop knowledge in these areas, and to make that knowledge accessible to sustain and enhance the quality of human life. UF/IFAS accomplishes this mission through the collaboration of our three main units, focused on teaching , research and Extension:

• Offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs in more than 20 disciplines with experiential learning opportunities, the UF/IFAS College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive colleges of its type in the nation.
• UF/IFAS Research facilities in Gainesville and at 17 off-campus locations across the state are tackling countless challenges in agriculture and natural resources.
• UF/IFAS Extension is in every county in Florida providing regional and local expertise, and public programs like the Florida 4-H Youth Development Program to serve Florida’s communities.
